Making picture of living beings is harwaam (forbidden) In Islam

Tasweer  means picture, image etc. Musaweeroon means image maker. In Islam making picture of living beings like people, animals, birds, etc is hawraam (forbidden)

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar RwadiAllahu Ta’ala ‘Anhu reports that Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam narrates, “Every image maker and the one who helps making own images will go to in the Jahannam” (Muslim shareef)

Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas’ud RwadiAllahu Ta’ala ‘Anhu reports that Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam narrates, “Those, who will be most severely punished by ALLAH PAK on the Day of Qiameat, will be the image-makers.” (Miskat shareef, page no 385)

Hazrat Abu Hurayrah RwadiAllahu Ta’ala ‘Anhu reports that Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam narrates,”ALLAH PAK dictates, ‘Who is more disobedient than the one who tries to create something resembling My creation? Let him create a grain of wheat or a kernel of corn or an ant.” (Miskat shareef, page no 385)

Hazrat  Ibn ‘Abbaas RwadiAllahu Ta’ala ‘Anhu  reports that Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam narrates, “Every image maker will be in the Jahannam and for every image that he has made, a soul will be created for it, which will punish him  in the Jahannam.” Hazrat  Ibn ‘Abbaas RwadiAllahu Ta’ala Anhu  also says,  “If you have to do that, make pictures of trees and other inanimate objects.” (Muslim shareef, 2nd volume, page no-202)

These Hadis shareef indicate that making pictures of living beings are hawraam, whether they are human or any other creatures, whether they are three-dimensional or two-dimensional, whether they are printed, drawn, etched, engraved, carved, cast in moulds, etc. These Hadis shareef include all of these types of pictures.

The Muslim should submit to the teachings of Islam and not argue with them by saying, “But I am not worshipping them or prostrating to them!” If we think about just one aspect of the evil caused by the prevalence of photographs and pictures in our times, we will understand something of the wisdom behind this prohibition: that aspect is the great corruption caused by the provoking of physical desires and subsequent spread of immorality caused by these pictures.

The Muslim should not keep any picture of living beings in his house, because they will prevent the Malaaika ‘Alihimus salam from entering. Hazrat Abu Talha RwadiAllahu Ta’ala ‘Anhu reports that Noor-e-Mujassam, Habeebullah, Huzur Pak Swallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam narrates, “The Malaaika ‘Alihimus Salam do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture.” (Muslim shareef, 2nd volume, page no-200)

So, Every Muslim should avoid making picture of living beings.
